CHEF | KITCHEN COOK (start JULY 2025) - PERMANENT position

This is an exciting opportunity to join our BAKED TEAM! We are looking for a skilled chef / cook who has a real love for cooking and can help grow our brunch menu. Looking for a vibrant, modern chef who will bring a twist to all the classics. You'll be part of a dedicated, supportive team, working from our brunch menu to give people food that'll make their day. It'll be your responsibility to make each dish to spec, in a clean and safe kitchen. Opportunity to build your own small team to help with the functioning of the kitchen.

MAIN DUTIES:

•       Managing the day-to-day running of the kitchen

•       Maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness

•       Leading and mentoring the kitchen team and building your own

•       Creating and implementing menus tailored to a fun brunch spot

•       Seasonal menus and weekly specials

  • Be organised, hard-working, reliable and flexible.

  • Opening and setting up the kitchen for opening and prepping

  • Create an environment with your teammates which balances serving the customer and having fun

  • Be passionate about delivering BAKED standards, always delivering above customer expectation

  • Handling food & drinks.

  • Learning the knowledge about of baked brownies and helping / guiding customers to find their items.

  • Ordering of stock

  • Cleaning duties throughout the day to keep our high level or hygiene.

  • Food hygiene training

  • Filling in and updating health and safety records throughout the day.

  • Being flexible to work multiple hours as these vary through the year and different events / seasons to what suits the business needs.

  • Ability to work under pressure and organise the team

  • Outgoing, friendly, strong communication skills, welcoming and warm.

  • Good time management.

  • Culinary Creativity – Ability to craft appealing, flavorful dishes and experiment with new ideas.

  • Attention to Detail – Precision in food preparation, portioning, and presentation.

  • Time Management – Efficient in managing multiple orders and prep work during busy hours.

  • Cleanliness & Hygiene Awareness – Maintains a high standard of cleanliness in line with food safety regulations.

  • Have at least 1 years’ experience within the hospitality environment

  • Food hygiene / Allergen training

  • Be an excellent communicator, and have experience of training other staff members

  • Must be able to lift 15kg minimum for deliveries

  • Being flexible to work multiple hours as these vary throughout the year and on different events / seasons to what suits the business needs.

  • Must be willing to learn, work as a team and comminute, use your own initiative, take advice and take instructions.

  • Outgoing, friendly, strong communication skills, welcoming and warm.

  • Reliability & Punctuality – Shows up consistently and ready to work, especially during peak café hours.

  • Resilience Under Pressure – Keeps calm and effective during fast-paced or stressful situations.

  • Understanding of stock control and completing stock takes

  • Willingness to Learn – Open to feedback and new cooking methods or menu changes.

  • Problem-Solving Ability – Can adapt quickly when issues arise (e.g., missing ingredients, broken equipment).

  • To adhere to all company policies and procedures

  • Team Player – Works cooperatively with kitchen staff, servers, and management.
